The Mechanical Engineering Department at ISRA University Hyderabad is dedicated to providing a top-tier education and fostering innovative research in the field of mechanical engineering. Our program blends rigorous academic coursework with hands-on experience to prepare students for successful careers in diverse industries.

The department of Mechanical Engineering offers the degree course titled “Bachelor of Engineering” it offers several major subjects of study. This is to ensure a minimum level of competence among graduating engineers and to inspire confidence in the engineering profession as a whole. Fundamental subjects of mechanical engineering typically include:

  • Engineering Mechanics
  • Strength of Materials
  • Instrumentation & control
  • Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer Energy Technology and Refrigeration/Air Conditioning
  • Fluid Machinary and Aerodynamics
  • Design of Mechanical systems
  • Manufacturing Technology or processes
  • Engineering Design
  • Mechatronics
  • Computer Aided Design and Drafting
  • Computer Aided Manufacturing
  • Mechanical Vibrations

Mechanical engineers are also expected to understand and be able to apply basic concepts of calculus, as well as advanced mathematical concepts which may include differential equations and partial differential equations, laplace & Fourier transforms, linear and modern algebra, and differential geometry.

The Mechanical Engineering program also requires varying amounts of research and community projects to gain practical problem-solving experience. Mechanical engineering students usually hold one or more internships while studying though this is not typically mandated by the university.

The theory classes of many subjects are being supported by the practical work for which different laboratories are established. The Mechanical Engineering Workshop also includes facilities for training in machining, fitting, forging, foundary, welding, electric connections and wood working. The training is not restricted to the students of Mechanical Engineering only and students of other disciplines also undergo training in the workshop
